The HK PLUS retractable fall arresters provide excellent freedom of movement while keeping fall distances to a minimum. The automatic rope retraction ensures that only the necessary length is extended, keeping the fall distance as short as possible – both when anchored overhead and when used horizontally. Thanks to the colour indicator on the carabiner and interchangeable marking, the device is suitable for both vertical and horizontal use (max. 100 kg). Versions with rope lengths of 3–15 metres are available.

Use over an edge

SKYLOTEC HK PLUS is a fall arrester in accordance with EN 360:2023, approved for vertical and horizontal use with the possibility of a fall over an edge. An additional energy absorber is not required for horizontal use.

Conditions of use:

• Vertical use: User weight including equipment: 40–140 kg (5 m and 10 m versions).

• Horizontal use over an edge: User weight including equipment: 40–100 kg.

• Test edge: Steel edge without burrs, with a radius of r = 0.5 mm.

• Edge angle: At least 90°.

• Anchor point: Must not be positioned below the level of the work surface.

• Sideways deviation: The risk of a pendulum fall must be limited.

• Sharp edges: For edges with a smaller radius, burrs or other hazardous characteristics, suitable edge protection must be used, a fall over the edge must be prevented, or the procedure must be discussed with the manufacturer.

• Clearance below the edge: It must be sufficient for safe fall arrest in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

Warning: Use over an edge is permitted only if the conditions specified in the current manufacturer's instructions are observed. A steel cable alone does not guarantee safe use over every sharp edge.
