The BlackBird by ART is a multifunctional device engineered for smooth, efficient climbing using both single rope systems (SRS/SRT) and moving rope systems (MRS/DRT). It enables effortless switching between these techniques without the need for tools or removing the rope from the device. Whether ascending or descending, the BlackBird delivers consistent performance in both SRT and MRS configurations.

The device features a mid-line attachable design with a convenient push-button opening, eliminating the need to detach it from the harness. The integrated swivel ensures perfect alignment during movement, while the opposite-facing upper carabiner attachment makes rope feeding straightforward. This attachment point is also compatible with V-rigs and mechanical advantage systems such as 3:1 or 4:1 setups.

For smooth operation, even under low tension, a ball-bearing pulley is built into the unit. The friction amplifier includes a rotatable cam, allowing for fine-tuned adjustment. A dedicated carabiner point for chest harness connection makes ascending easier by enabling efficient device advancement.

The BlackBird is certified for two-person rescue operations on both single and double ropes, enhancing its safety credentials. All wearing parts are replaceable, and the device comes with two interchangeable cams to accommodate different rope diameters.
