PETZL MAESTRO S rescue descender
Descender with integrated progress-capture pulley for technical rescue operations || MBS 36 kN || WLL 250 kg || Weight 1100 g || Efficiency 85%
Rescue lowering and pulling device with integrated pulley with blocker, for loads up to 250 kg, compatible with ropes 10.5 to 11.5 mm.
MAESTRO S is a device intended for technical rescue operations. It facilitates the handling of heavy loads when lowering or pulling up and can be used in both the primary system and backup protection. This versatility allows rescuers to adapt to any situation they may encounter during rescue operations. The ergonomic handle and integrated braking allow you to comfortably regulate the descent. The transition from the lowering function to the extraction function is instantaneous without the need to move the load. The integrated locking pulley has a large diameter disc mounted on ball bearings, ensuring excellent efficiency.
Great versatility, ideal for technical rescue:
- locking system with integrated pulley block allows the same device to be used for lowering or pulling
- it can be used in a single or double primary system, as well as in a back-up belay system (further information about these techniques is given in the product user manual and also in the Technical tips chapter on www.petzl.com)
- the lower connection hole can be used to create different types of pull-out systems (hoists)
- hole in the handle for installing a cord to control the range of motion
Ease of use:
- easy rope installation thanks to markings on the device
- the ergonomic handle allows gradual rope release and enables comfortable control during lowering
- instantly change between lowering and pulling functions without the need to reposition the load
- the AUTO-LOCK system allows automatic locking of the rope when the handle is not in use. Even when the rope is secured, it can be retrieved without having to manipulate the handle
Effective for handling heavy loads:
- Integrated pulley with locking function and a large-diameter sheave mounted on sealed ball bearings; rotates in one direction only for excellent hauling efficiency
- the groove of the pulley is shaped, it creates additional friction zones for the rope and thus provides more effective braking during lowering
- integrated additional brake on the device for additional friction depending on the load and rope diameter
- handling loads up to 250 kg
