OKATSUNE
Okatsune is a Japanese brand that emerged in the 1940s thanks to Tsuneichi Okano, who practiced blacksmithing from a young age. From the start, Okatsune has focused on hand-forged shears and garden tools, crafted with precision and drawing on traditional techniques.
The blades in Okatsune tools are made from Izumo-Yasugi steel, the same kind historically used for Japanese swords. As a result, they are extremely hard (around 60-61 HRC), keep their edge for a long time, deliver clean cuts, and offer ease of use even under heavy conditions.
The brand is known for its minimalist, functional, and elegant design — simple shapes, red and white handles, strong yet ergonomic builds without unnecessary extras. Product lines include pruning shears, harvesting shears, hedge shears, bonsai and ikebana scissors.
