During ascent, it is gentle on the braid of the rope - as one of the few, it does not have a toothed blocking cam.
It works on a similar principle to fall arresters, when the rope is clamped by the internal mechanism when the blocker is loaded with the climber's weight.
After opening the sides, you simply place the rope, close it, connect the carabiner and you can start the ascent.

The blocking mechanism is not free, but under pressure, therefore in an unloaded state
there is no spontaneous movement downwards, but the blocker remains in its position,
while the upward shift is smooth and easy.
For this reason, the blocker can also be used as a lanyard length adjuster - positioning blocker.
